Speaking of, the Garden has one of the most complete collections of cactus and agave in the world, and we display them in our collection and on the trails. In addition, the Garden uses funds from admissions to further our work in desert conservation both locally and around the world. The new price structure includes access to the seasonal Butterfly Exhibit and behind-the-scenes tours of the new Hazel Hare Center for Plant Science. As a nonprofit, the Garden uses funds from admission and membership to add new visitor amenities, horticulture displays and exhibits. We appreciate your feedback! We are sorry to hear you had a less-than 5-star experience at the Garden. If you like cactus and succulents you will love this place. They also have bathroom and a couple of shops. There are plenty of water stations throughout the park but bring your water containers. The calendar shows that they give 10 am Behind the Scene tours on weekends. Also they need to improve their on-line calendar of event. They admission is a bit expensive at around $30 for regular price but it goes to a good cause and you really get your moneys worth. I believe they try to keep each group to around 10-12. They have plenty of docents so if there are too many folks for one tour they will just break you up into smaller groups to ensure you have an excellent experience. The are between 40-50 minutes and high level but definitely worth the time. Jump on one of the docent lead general park tours (10, 11, and 1) that are complementary with your entrance fee. On our trip we toured a number or fabulous gardens and this one was the best cared for. Plus the gardens are extremely well cared for. The Garden has a incredibly wide variety of succulents and cactus. Also there are tons of docents around the park to answer your questions. Plus there is good signage throughout the park. The is a high level map that they give you when you enter (in the booklet) that will generally get you around. The Desert Botanical Gardens has a ton to over and is really a treat.
